Pharmacy in History Seeks Book Review Co-Editors

The American Institute of the History of Pharmacy (AIHP) seeks one or two new book review co-editors to join the editorial team for the publication Pharmacy in History. Published on a quarterly basis, Pharmacy in History is the oldest journal of its kind in North America, and it is celebrating its 60th Anniversary in 2019. More information can be found on the AIHP website (https://aihp.org/pharmacy-in-history-journal/) and at JSTOR (https://www.jstor.org/journal/pharmhist). We define pharmacy history broadly; our readers are interested in transatlantic, transnational, and postcolonial approaches—and in histories of pharmaceuticals, intoxicants, and the history of medicine more generally. We particularly encourage applications from scholars interested in these topics in areas outside of the United States.
The application deadline is Friday, November 23, 2018. AIHP staff will select the new editors by Monday, December 17, 2018, to facilitate a smooth transition. New book review editors will begin working with the current team by Monday, January 7, 2019. We expect the reviews editors to carry out a 2-year term in the first instance. Those interested should email a 2-page CV and a short cover letter (as a single PDF document) to the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy at ph@aihp.org (Please use “Book Review Editor” as the email subject). Experience in the history of medicine or the history of pharmacy, preferably at the PhD level or higher, will be an asset. The total time commitment averages 3-5 hours per week. Current assistant editor Greg Bond (Gregory.Bond@aihp.org) will be happy to answer questions about the duties.

  2. Online pharmacies are rapidly controlling the industry for prescribed medicines. More and more patients are buying from online pharmacies in place of dropping by their local pharmacy. Despite their popularity, many online pharmacies still bring about difficulties with some consumers. Below are several guidelines to take into consideration before you fill up that online purchase form from a pharmacy site. 威爾鋼
